Risonanze Festival

There is a magical place in Friuli-Venezia Giulia where trees make sounds, or resonate, the Val Saisera. The trees there are so special and enchanted that a Festival has been dedicated to them.

The Risonanze Festival takes place in June in many locations in the Val Canale – Canal del Ferro area, mainly in Malborghetto, the Valbruna and the Val Saisera. It involves a large number of events that focus on the magical nature of wood and, in particular, resonance Spruce that grows along the Val Saisera.

Every year in the beautiful setting of Palazzo Veneziano in Malborghetto, a musical, cultural, gourmet and nature event takes place, intended to promote Resonance Wood, an excellent product of our region, in an innovative way.
This special wood is found only in very few places in the world and the Val Saisera is one of them.
The spruce trees of the Tarvisio area provide highly prestigious wood particularly suited to making string instruments. Much to the delight of violin makers all over the world, they are made here from the wood of our trees.

During the days of the festival, special exhibitions, aperitifs, concerts and conferences are held in the garden of Palazzo Veneziano, in the cool shade of the linden tree. Other activities include violin-making workshops, themed walks, outdoor activities for adults and children, snacks on the lawns with baskets of typical products of the area and magical musical performances in the woods of the Val Saisera, set among the beautiful peaks of the Julian Alps, now a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site.
